We have Melaina!

We met Melaina this morning at the orphanage. We were an hour late & she & her foster mom were waiting for us.

She flirted with us as we were walking behind them into the room.

I have to say, meeting her in these circumstances, was very relaxed. We weren't at a noisy hot, civil affairs office with 20 other families. It was just us at the orphanage in a calm environment.

We've only had her for 6 hours & so far, she's transitioned with us very well.

Her foster mom adores her.  She had a very difficult time saying goodbye & cried twice.  We assured her that Melaina is going to have a wonderful life full of love & great opportunities.  She was grateful & felt at ease with us.

She's pretty small, about 20lbs & very wobbly on her feet.  Her FM carries her all of the time.  We've got to get her some good ole American food & fatten her up!

Her personality is just what I imagined.  She's very sweet, smiles alot, seems to be laid back & is loving. She's already given me kisses :)

So far, so good. We'll see what bedtime brings us.
