Kindergarten Koolness

Miss Harper started Kindergarten about 2 weeks ago.
As expected, she dove right in & hasn't looked back.

H & M hugging it out : )

She loves her new school & classroom.
Her favorite part about Kindergarten is going to different classrooms for music, art & PE.
She still is a cat napper & is trying to adjust without her full nap.
She's pretty exhuasted & emotionally fragile after school so early bedtime is a must for her little body.

We're so proud of our little girl.
Happy 1st day of Kindergarten sweet girl!

Surprise Daddy O

Happy 70th Birthday Dad!

We threw a suprise party for him but he wasn't so surprised : (

He's been  blessed with wonderful friendships that have lasted over 50 years!

Polka music is right up his alley!

Over 40 years of marriage

This crew probably had the most fun of the bunch.
They were wet & dirty from head to toe!

Despite the heat warning on the party day, we had a great turnout.
Dad had a wonderful time hanging with his friends & family.
Happy Birthday to my Daddy!

Summer Staycation

Since we didn't get to take a real vacation this year, we spent some time at Tan-Tara Resort at Lake of the Ozarks.
Even though it's only an hour away, it's been 3 years since we've been there.
This was Melaina's first visit : )

The view from our room was beautiful.

The girls loved feeding the geese.

Harper was our little fish...
Melaina hung out mostly in the hot tub!

Enjoying their first daiquiri's, virgin of course!

Compliments of Uncle Fred!

Mimi & Papa made a detour in their travels & spent an evening with us.

But the highlight of the weekend was the indoor water park.
First time ever!
Again, M wanted to hang out in the hot tub.
After much coaxing, we got her to go down the slide, but only with mama.

After 50 times down the slide, ,mama needed a break.

Harper was going solo the entire time but really wanted her sister to go with her.

M finally gave in & decided to go down with H & loved it.

She loved it so much that she worked up enough courage to try it on her own.

\

And LOVED it.

This mini getaway was just what we needed.
We needed to get out of town & decompress with our family.
Hopefully it won't be another 3 years before we visit again!
